Universal Hall Berlin (former pumping station VIII Berlin Moabit )
The 1889-1890 built up pumping station VIII in Berlin- Moabit was up to his conversion 1927/28 to electric and diesel drive, driven by steam power. The radial system included in essentially the Moabit district and transported the wastewater to the sewage farm in Blanenfelde and Buch.
The pumping station ” Moabit ” is not hidden in a back yard, but then as today, placed at a busy road junction. In 1987 the company closed and the new pumping station Tiergarten / Alt -Moabit took over the transport.
1993-1995 was the listed object ” Pumping station VIII Moabit ” rebuild to a fascinating event venue in the heart of Berlin. Its brick architecture in Wilhelmine style impresses by solidity, sobriety and clarity. Since its birth in 1995, the “Universal Hall ” offered space for all kind of numerous exclusive events. In the last 18 years the ” Universal Hall ” has become one of the most beautiful and most popular event locations Berlin, particularly with exceptional flair and an unforgettable atmosphere of Capital.
